The Weasel Apologetics Corps

‘Nuff said.  Don’t expect an apology from us, Barry.

This season the part of Charley Sheen will be played by the MSM. Only goofier.

The MSM’s marketing of irrational and illogical words and political miscalculations seemed eerily familiar to me… and I finally figured out the parallel:  Charley Sheen.  The media stew has all of the irrationality of the infamous Charley Sheen melt down.  It has all of the classic markers:

1.  Irrational thought processes with their continual denial of Obama’s fiscal irresponsibility.   Charley certainly didn’t mind holding others to a different standard while denying his own double standard.  Check.

2. Their habit to inflate the magnitude of his deeds and poll numbers despite the context of the fiscal and political reality lying in smouldering ruins around his feet.   Charley certainly ummmm overstated his own personal prowess despite reality.  Check.

3.  Much reduced venues and audiences loaded with formerly enthusiastic fans?  Charley’s last performance in a small venue compared to his audience on television?  Check.

4.  Declaring to a more sane and savvy world that he was winning?  Charley’s tweets that he was ‘winning’ despite the evidence?  Check.

MSM, you have a certain Sheen about you…. keep glossing over the truth at your own peril.

The bullstuff in the Ohio poll

DaTechGuy covers the details of the Ohio poll mentioned in the previous Horse Hockey post.  Juicy tidbit:

But OK that’s a supposition, not a fact so if this poll is to be believed Romney is polling 3 pts above his conservative base yet obama is polling 22 pts above his liberal one.

Is there anyone ANYONE stupid enough to believe that? Are you?

This is the poll the MSM is pushing. These figures are available to them just as they are to me, why is it that they are treating these Ohio numbers as Gospel? The answer is in my previous post today from Sarah Hoyt:

However, unless you are going to deny that Journolist ever existed, that respectable journalists engaged to elect Barack Obama despite his deep negatives by coordinating attacks on anyone who challenged him, you can’t say they don’t conspire on the propaganda front. In fact, that’s all they have.

And let’s not forget that we’ve seen interesting interpretations of Ohio polls before (O+9 vs Romney in Nov 2011 REALLY, the same Obama union leaders kept out of their state? during their referendum.)

The MSM isn’t reporting to inform you, they are spinning to demoralize you and to energize a base that was so inspired by Obama they couldn’t fill the stadium in NC they reserved.

He has more details of the media treachery.  Go visit him.

Romney Campaign: The bravado, it’s a bunch of horse hockey

Rich Lowery and The National Review talk to the Romney campaign about the media blitz to convince us that Romney is losing:

It’s horses**t. Nobody in Boston thinks we’re going to lose. We’re in a tight race. We had a 4-5 point bounce after our convention and it evaporated when they had theirs. Now they have a 4-5 bounce. It’s going to evaporate in September. We feel good about the map. We’re up with advertising in Wisconsin and I think North Carolina is going to come off the board. On Ohio, they’ve been spinning for months now that it’s out of reach.

There was a Columbus Dispatch poll last week that had it 45-45.

That’s a more accurate picture of the state of the play there than any of the spin. PPP has these polls that just put chum in the water for the media. Sometimes I think there’s a conscious effort between the media and Chicago to get Republicans depressed. And I hope our friends realize that all these media analysts out there are Democrats WHO WANT US TO LOSE. And the more Washington DC controls our economy, the more important inside-the-beltway publications are and the more money they make. The 202 area code is dominated by people who will make more money if Obama is reelected, so it’s not just an ideological thumb they’re putting on the scale for him, it’s a business interest.

I actually think the other side is in a panic. You look at New Mexico closing up. And they’re not above 50 in any of their target states. Look, we’re raising money, they’re raising money, and it’s tight. This is a dogfight. But the numbers actually point to a Romney win barring something unforeseen.

I personally think Romney will romp.
