Tammy Baldwin (D): This is what hypocrisy looks like!

Progressives simply love those simplistic guilt-by-association characterizations…. that is until it bites them in the tuckus.  For example, Progressive Magazine has a piece about Republicans highlighting the fact that poor widdle Tammy Baldwin is associating with *gasp* some of her supporters!  The horror!

Let’s see how their guilt-by-association ‘reasoning’ unravels.  Second paragraph:

The NRSC is the official committee of the Republican Party devoted to electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate. Its biggest funders are Goldman Sachs, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Home Depot, Exxon Mobil, and Perry Homes.

Really?  They have large corporate donors?  That’s a bad thing?  Are they guilty of something?  Let’s review their political donation performance to see how the Democrats handled their offers to help:

Goldman Sachs?  One of President Obama’s top donors.

Perry Homes?  They donate almost 10% of their funds to Democrats.  The Democrats certainly don’t mind accepting the dollars if Perry Homes is not a good donor.  What is their crime?  Building homes for humans?

Blue Cross/Blue Shield? They donate 44% of their political funds to Democrats.  What’s the problem, Progressive Magazine?

Exxon/Mobil?  7% of their political funds go to Democrats.  Again, if Exxon/Mobil’s money is so evil… why are the Democrats taking any of it, Progressive Magazine?

Home Depot?  25% to Democrats.  Nope, their money is not too vile to accept.

Apparently, their money is good enough for Democrats -and by extension- Tammy Baldwin and Progressive Magazine.  What’s the real problem?

Simplistic talking points grounded in the shifting sands of double standards.  To wit:

No,  Tammy Baldwin yelling ‘This is what Democracy looks like!’ to a group that didn’t always behave properly blew up in her face.   She -and Progressive Magazine- are busy wiping the gun powder off of their faces while nursing sore rumps courtesy of Scott Walker.

…and it’s not just in the Republican ad campaign that shows Baldwin’s association with the sleazy Occupier Den… Mother Jones obliges to make the association long before the recall election.    In fact, Tammy is a top ten Occupy candidate.
